Negombo
Arrival — Negombo
Your driver-guide meets you at Bandaranaike International Airport and takes you straight to Negombo, a relaxed beach town twenty minutes from the runway — the easiest possible place to shake off a long flight before the trip properly begins.

Sigiriya
Negombo — Sigiriya
After breakfast, drive inland to the cultural triangle. Visit the cave temples of Dambulla, carved into a single rock and filled with centuries of Buddhist murals, before continuing to Sigiriya for the night.

Kandy
Sigiriya — Kandy
Climb Sigiriya — the 5th-century rock fortress — before the midday heat and crowds arrive. En route to Kandy, stop at Pinnawala to see the elephants bathe in the river. In the evening, visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and a traditional Kandyan dance performance.

Ella
Kandy — Ella
Drive up into tea country, stopping at a working tea estate to see how the leaves are picked and processed. Continue to Ella, a small hill town wrapped in tea terraces, and walk out to the Nine Arches Bridge before dinner.

Yala
Ella — Yala
Head south to Yala National Park. Late afternoon, go out on a private jeep safari through one of the world's densest leopard territories — elephants, crocodiles and a long list of birdlife are also common sightings.

Mirissa
Yala — Galle — Mirissa
An optional early safari before breakfast, then drive to the south coast. Break the journey at Galle Fort, the walled old town built by the Portuguese and Dutch, before settling in at a beach hotel near Mirissa for the evening.

Colombo
Mirissa — Colombo — Departure
A slow morning on the beach, with an optional stop at the Kosgoda turtle hatchery on the way back. Depending on your flight time, a short Colombo city stop rounds off the trip before transferring to the airport.
