Reasons people extend their trip

The island's signature moments

Every itinerary is built from a shortlist of experiences we've each done a dozen times over — so we tell you honestly which ones are worth the early alarm.

Culture & Heritage

Sigiriya & the Cultural Triangle

Climb the 5th-century rock fortress at first light, then explore the cave temples of Dambulla before the coach parties arrive.

Galle Fort

Wander the Dutch-colonial ramparts at golden hour — boutique galleries, rooftop bars and the Indian Ocean on three sides.

Wellness & Ayurveda

Kandy & the Temple of the Tooth

A traditional Kandyan dance performance, the sacred temple at dusk, and an Ayurvedic spa evening to close the day.

Culture & Heritage

Jaffna & the North

Nallur Kovil, a boat out to Delft Island, and a Tamil Hindu culture unlike anywhere else on the island — most visitors never make it this far north.

Build this into my trip

Also part of the island worth knowing about: Trincomalee & Passikuda's east-coast beaches, the ancient cities of Anuradhapura & Polonnaruwa, Wilpattu & Udawalawe's quieter safari parks, Sinharaja's rainforest canopy, and the Jaffna peninsula in the north — ask your planner to work any of these into your route.

Why travel with us

A different way to plan Sri Lanka

Beautiful places are easy to find. The difference is having someone on the ground who can turn them into the right trip for you — and stay close while you're travelling.

02

Local, on-the-ground expertise

Routes planned — and driven — by people who live here, not a call centre reading from a script.

03

Responsible by design

No elephant rides, no staged animal shows. We work with small, community-linked properties wherever the route allows it.

04

Off the well-worn path

Alongside the big sights, we build in the quieter places most coach tours skip entirely.

05

24/7 support while you travel

A real phone number for your driver-guide and planner, not an automated helpdesk queue.

06

Free, no-obligation quote

Our story

Why we started TraveLuxe Voyages

We started in travel long before we started this company — planning routes, vetting drivers and guides, and watching too many visitors get sold the same fixed-departure coach tour, three cities and out, having barely scratched the island.

TraveLuxe Voyages exists to do the opposite: no fixed departure dates, no shared coaches, no fifteen-stop days. Every trip is planned around one traveller, one family, or one small group, with a private driver-guide and a route we've actually walked ourselves.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

How far in advance should I book a Sri Lanka trip?

We recommend requesting a quote at least 6-8 weeks before your travel dates, especially for the December-March and July-August peak seasons when the best guides and hotels book up early. That said, we've also planned trips with as little as two weeks' notice — get in touch and we'll tell you honestly what's possible.

Is Sri Lanka safe for tourists?

Yes. Sri Lanka is a popular, welcoming destination for international travellers, including solo travellers and families. Every TraveLuxe Voyages trip includes a private driver-guide who is with you throughout, and our planners are reachable directly if anything comes up during your trip.

What's the best time of year to visit Sri Lanka?

Sri Lanka has two monsoon seasons that affect different coasts at different times, so 'best time' depends on your route. Broadly: December to March suits the south and west coasts and the hill country; May to September suits the east coast (Trincomalee) and the north. We factor this into every itinerary we plan.

Do you arrange private tours, or join group tours?

Every TraveLuxe Voyages trip is private — your own vehicle, driver-guide, and pace, with no fixed departure dates and no joining a coach group. Itineraries are planned around your dates and interests, not a shared schedule.

How much does a Sri Lanka trip with TraveLuxe Voyages cost?

Cost depends on trip length, hotel category, and time of year, so we don't publish a single fixed price. Request a quote through the form on this site with your rough dates and traveller numbers, and a planner will reply personally with a first draft itinerary and price, usually within one working day.

Can I customise one of the sample itineraries?

Yes — every itinerary on this site is a starting draft, not a fixed package. Select the closest match in the quote form, add any optional experiences you're interested in, and mention anything you'd like changed in the message field. Your planner rebuilds it around you from there.

Do you offer airport transfers and private drivers?

Yes. Every itinerary includes a private driver-guide and vehicle for the full length of your trip, including both airport transfers, not just sightseeing days.
