Reasons people extend their trip
Every itinerary is built from a shortlist of experiences we've each done a dozen times over — so we tell you honestly which ones are worth the early alarm.

Build this into my tripAlso part of the island worth knowing about: Trincomalee & Passikuda's east-coast beaches, the ancient cities of Anuradhapura & Polonnaruwa, Wilpattu & Udawalawe's quieter safari parks, Sinharaja's rainforest canopy, and the Jaffna peninsula in the north — ask your planner to work any of these into your route.

7days Explore route 7 Days / 6 Nights
Built for travellers who can't take three weeks off but still want the real island: a rock fortress, a temple city, a private safari and two nights on the coast, without ever feeling rushed.
10days Explore route 10 Days / 9 Nights
A complete loop through the cultural triangle, the hill country by rail, a private safari and a proper stretch on the south coast — the itinerary we point most first-time visitors towards.
16days Explore route 16 Days / 15 Nights
For travellers with real time to spend: the south coast, two safaris, the full sweep of tea country, and the ancient cities of the cultural triangle, at a pace that never feels like a checklist.
11days Explore route 11 Days / 10 Nights
For travellers who've done a Sri Lanka trip before, or simply want to start somewhere different: dolphins off Kalpitiya, the Tamil Hindu culture of the Jaffna peninsula, snorkelling reefs on the east coast, and a highland finish most coach tours never reach.
Beyond Sri Lanka
A short flight from Colombo can turn a Sri Lanka adventure into a longer Indian Ocean escape. We can help you add a few island days after your main journey.
Privé Collection South Nilandhe Atoll, Maldives
An intimate, boutique island for couples and quieter families
A small, boutique retreat built around one of the Maldives' most vivid house reefs. Vilu Reef suits travellers after a quieter, more personal side of the islands — six restaurants and bars, and a full 24-hour all-inclusive stay, on a genuinely intimate scale.
Lifestyle Collection South Malé Atoll, Maldives
Three islands, endless options — 45 minutes from the airport
Spread across three interconnected islands just 45 minutes from Malé by speedboat, Olhuveli is built for variety — more than 20 places to eat and drink, the Maldives' longest swimming pool, and some of the country's best diving, including regular whale shark and manta ray sightings.
Luxury Collection Noonu Atoll, Maldives
A private island built for an elevated, unhurried stay
A private island in the Noonu Atoll built for a more elevated stay — fifteen restaurants and bars, an award-winning spa with a resident Ayurvedic doctor, and multilingual butler service throughout. Especially well suited to honeymooners, though just as comfortable for families.
These are independently operated resorts, not part of TraveLuxe Voyages. We help arrange the stay as an add-on to your Sri Lanka trip, with official booking handled directly through the resort.
Why travel with us
Beautiful places are easy to find. The difference is having someone on the ground who can turn them into the right trip for you — and stay close while you're travelling.

Plan my journeyOur story
We started in travel long before we started this company — planning routes, vetting drivers and guides, and watching too many visitors get sold the same fixed-departure coach tour, three cities and out, having barely scratched the island.
TraveLuxe Voyages exists to do the opposite: no fixed departure dates, no shared coaches, no fifteen-stop days. Every trip is planned around one traveller, one family, or one small group, with a private driver-guide and a route we've actually walked ourselves.

"We don't sell Sri Lanka. We just show people the version of it we'd want to visit ourselves."— TraveLuxe Voyages
Good to know
We recommend requesting a quote at least 6-8 weeks before your travel dates, especially for the December-March and July-August peak seasons when the best guides and hotels book up early. That said, we've also planned trips with as little as two weeks' notice — get in touch and we'll tell you honestly what's possible.
Yes. Sri Lanka is a popular, welcoming destination for international travellers, including solo travellers and families. Every TraveLuxe Voyages trip includes a private driver-guide who is with you throughout, and our planners are reachable directly if anything comes up during your trip.
Sri Lanka has two monsoon seasons that affect different coasts at different times, so 'best time' depends on your route. Broadly: December to March suits the south and west coasts and the hill country; May to September suits the east coast (Trincomalee) and the north. We factor this into every itinerary we plan.
Every TraveLuxe Voyages trip is private — your own vehicle, driver-guide, and pace, with no fixed departure dates and no joining a coach group. Itineraries are planned around your dates and interests, not a shared schedule.
Cost depends on trip length, hotel category, and time of year, so we don't publish a single fixed price. Request a quote through the form on this site with your rough dates and traveller numbers, and a planner will reply personally with a first draft itinerary and price, usually within one working day.
Yes — every itinerary on this site is a starting draft, not a fixed package. Select the closest match in the quote form, add any optional experiences you're interested in, and mention anything you'd like changed in the message field. Your planner rebuilds it around you from there.
Yes. Every itinerary includes a private driver-guide and vehicle for the full length of your trip, including both airport transfers, not just sightseeing days.
